There are typically two ways that prizes are awarded to the winning poker player, eitherr fixed or proportional. Fixed is when the poker players place is directly connected to a known payoff. This way players know just how much money they will win before the game starts. The other way that poker players win money is  based on proportions. The prize is determined according to percentages which are calculated based on the number of poker players and increase depending on the ranking of the players at the end of the poker tournament.
